    • 4 medium Tomatoes
    • 1 small beetroot
    • 1/2 onion finely chopped
    • 2 garlic flakes
    • 1 tbsp Butter
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 2 Green chilies
    • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
    • Oil
    • Garnish
    • Freshly chopped Coriander


    1. In a small pressure cooker heat butter add chopped garlic ,tomato ,beetroot ,green chilies and water.
    2. Pressure cook it for few minutes let it completely cool.Remove the tomato skin and discard and grind it in mixer.
    3. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the cumin seed ,As the cumin seeds crack, add onion n fry it until translucent .
    4. Add the tomato puree and adjust water ,add salt and sugar according your taste.
    5. When the soup boils, turn the heat to low and let it simmer for few minutes.
    6. Garnish it with fresh coriander.
    7. Serve hot I always like to have tomato soup with few pieces of croutons !!
